Privacy Policy - DevSuite
Last Updated: May 11, 2026
Privacy is not an afterthought; it's our core architecture. DevSuite is built to be local-only, ensuring your sensitive development data never leaves your machine.
No Data Collection
DevSuite does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, API keys, JWT tokens, source code, or browsing history. All processing for formatting, decoding, and analysis happens 100% locally within your browser.
Privacy-First Engineering
- Zero Network Calls: The extension does not make any external network requests to process your data. Your "API Tester" requests are sent directly from your browser to your specified endpoints, just like a local fetch call.
- Offline Functionality: Most tools (Formatters, Generators, Decoders) work entirely offline without requiring an internet connection.
- No Tracking: We do not use analytics, tracking pixels, or cookies to monitor your behavior. Your usage patterns are your business.
- Data Persistence: Any data saved (like Quick Notes or API History) is stored exclusively in your browser's local storage and is never synced to any cloud service.
Permissions Explained
To provide professional developer tools, DevSuite requires the following permissions:
- activeTab: Required for page analysis tools like the CSS Inspector and Asset Grabber to interact with the site you are currently viewing.
- storage: Used to persist your local settings, preferences, and tool history (e.g., API Tester history).
- cookies: Necessary for the Cookie Manager tool to allow you to view and edit cookies for the current domain.
- scripting: Required to inject the analysis scripts for tools like the Accessibility Checker and Performance Auditor.
