Privacy Policy - 90 Day Streak

Effective date: October 13, 2026

This policy explains what information the 90 Day Streak Chrome extension ("the extension") handles, why, and the choices you have. The short version: your habit data stays on your device and in your own Chrome account, and the only information that leaves your device is what is needed to verify a Pro purchase.

1. Information stored on your device

The extension stores the following in your browser's storage (chrome.storage) so that your progress is there every time you open a new tab:

  • Your habits, daily check-ins, streaks, XP and level, vacation days, and streak freezes
  • Your settings, such as theme, check-in icon, and sound preference
  • The name you enter for share cards, if any
  • Automatic backups of your data, kept on your device
  • Your Pro license status and a random license ID (see section 2)

This data is not sent to us. If you have Chrome sync enabled, Chrome may sync part of it across your own devices through your Google account. That syncing is handled by Google under its own privacy policy, and we do not have access to it.

2. Information sent to our servers

To support the optional Pro upgrade, the extension communicates with our licensing server. This is the only information it sends:

  • A random license ID that the extension generates itself. It is not linked to your name, email, or browsing activity.
  • The extension's name, so the server knows which product is being checked.
  • If you choose to restore a purchase, the Paddle transaction ID you enter.

This information is used only to confirm whether a Pro license is active and to restore a purchase. The extension checks your license status about once a day, and again after a purchase.

Like any server, our servers may see your IP address when they receive a request. We do not use it to identify or track you.

3. Payments

Pro is a one-time purchase handled by Paddle, our payment processor and merchant of record. When you buy, you enter your payment details on Paddle's checkout, not in the extension. We never see or store your card number or other payment details. Paddle's handling of your information is governed by the Paddle privacy policy.

4. What we do not do

  • We do not collect your browsing history. The extension only checks whether a tab is our own purchase confirmation page, and it does not store or transmit any URL.
  • We do not read the content of web pages you visit.
  • We do not track your clicks, scrolling, or keystrokes, and we use no analytics or advertising tools.
  • We do not sell, rent, or trade your data.
  • We do not use your data for advertising, for credit decisions, or for any purpose unrelated to the extension's single purpose of habit tracking.
  • The extension does not load or run remote code.

5. Permissions

  • storage — saves your habits, progress, settings, and license status.
  • alarms — schedules the once-a-day license check.
  • tabs and host access to our own domains — used to open the checkout page and to detect when a purchase has completed, so that Pro unlocks right away.

6. Data retention and your control

You are in control of your habit data. You can export it as a JSON file, restore it, or delete it at any time. Uninstalling the extension removes the locally stored data from your device. Data synced through Chrome can be removed from your Google account's sync data in your Chrome settings. If you would like us to delete any license-related record associated with your license ID or transaction ID, contact us at the address below.

7. Children

The extension is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above. If a change affects how your data is handled, we will describe it on this page before it takes effect.
